If you find yourself in Greater Manchester you may pass through Bolton, a town with plenty of charm. Bolton lies between Blackburn, Wigan, Salford, Manchester and Bury, and so is in a wonderful, pretty central location. The town is famous for its industrial heritage, and you can still see the history throughout Bolton today. The town's canals, along with its coal and cotton industries and railways add a huge amount of charm to Bolton. Bolton is also close to the West Pennine Moors, and so if you prefer a bit more greenery, you'll enjoy spending time out on the edge of the stunning countryside. Bolton is home to the UK's biggest food and drink festivals in August, along with the largest Ironkids and Ironman Triathalon, and there are so many museums and experiences peppered around the town.
