Blackwell Grange has been a family home since 1944, when the current owner's grandparents moved there after serving in World War Two. Now, with the fourth generation in residence, William and Didi Vernon Miller feel privileged to be the keepers of this romantic and exclusive setting. Didi’s design concept of blending 'old and new' has meant that the restored 16th century thatch barn which now sits within the grounds of the bespoke designed orchard barn, is a true 21st century masterpiece and makes for a truly unforgettable wedding day.
This venue has everything you need, from the bridal dressing room and the ceremony barn, down to the gorgeously landscaped gardens and dining space, along with the 1604 accommodation. Each part of your special day will be completely bespoke and unique, so just express your desires to your wedding coordinator when you start the planning. The onsite catering team will work with you to create a menu that reflects your theme and most loved tastes, whether you're planning for 150 guests or a smaller number of 50.
The orchard barn is a space that is divided into three different areas. You can start the fun with drinks and canapes in the bar, before moving to the beautiful dining space that has floor to ceiling windows. Make your way up the staircase from the bar to discover the snug mezzanine – which provides a moment of calm where guests can unwind and kick off their shoes while the evening festivities unfold below. Then, when everything is wrapped up, you can spend your first night as husband and wife in the Hayloft Honeymoon Cottage, making the most magical start to married life.
