Gordon Ramsay has released an 'Idiot Sandwich' across his restaurant chain Bread Street Kitchen & Bar, named after the iconic meme that took the internet by storm back in 2015.
The meme came from a sketch on The Late Late Show with James Cordon, entitled 'Hell's Cafeteria'. The skit saw Ramsay holding slices of bread either side of TV personality and news anchor Julie Chen's face. ‘What are you?’ He shouts. ‘An idiot sandwich,’ she replies. And thus, a viral moment was born.
The video has been watched on YouTube almost 14 million times, with the meme spreading across the internet like wildfire.
Nine years later, the chef has also turned the infamous moment into a new internet series. Each episode sees three of the internet’s biggest content creators try to impress the fiery-tempered chef with their sarnie creations as they fight to win the title of 'Idiot Sandwich'.
Not only that, but Ramsay has released an 'Idiot sandwich' which is now available to try at his Bread Street Kitchen & Bar restaurants. For a limited period, you can find it across the chain's five London sites located in St Paul's, Southwark, The City, Limehouse and Battersea Power Station.
So, what’s in the sandwich? It's a luxurious creation filled with braised short rib, cheddar, confit mushrooms and spiced tomato chutney, all stuffed between two slices of toasted sourdough bread and served with a side of fries.
But get this - you'll have to dig deep into your pockets to pay for it, with the sandwich coming in at a whopping £26.
You can also find an Idiot burger and Idiot pizza at Ramsay’s Street Burger and Street Pizza joints, which both boast the same ingredients of beef short rib, cheese, tomato and mushrooms.

In a recent collaboration with Sandwich Magazine, in which Ramsay features as a special guest editor, the chef can be seen on the front cover smashing a deli sandwich onto his face. The chef stated: ‘This is the first time I’ve Idiot Sandwiched myself in print! Things got very messy indeed.’
