Waddesdon Manor

About Waddesdon Manor

Waddesdon Manor was built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild between 1874 and 1885 and was created with the intention of displaying his collection of arts, in order to entertain fashionable society. After some time as a private estate, Waddesdon Manor was opened to the public in 1959, and is managed by the Rothschild Foundation, which is a family charitable trust, on behalf of the National Trust. But, even today, it is still home to the Rothschild Collections of paintings, sculptures and decorative arts. If you’re looking for an event space, this is a pretty spectacular one to choose.

Waddesdon Manor private events are a unique selection of event and meeting spaces, which can range from intimate dinners to business forums and lavish weddings, and everything in between. There are a range of spaces to choose from, including the manor and grounds, the white drawing room that offers plenty of lighting for up to 40 people, along with the blue dining room that has capacity for 16 guests, and a beautifully restored aviary that has been filled with colourful and exotic birds. For something unique and cosy, the cellars have capacity for 44 guests, and are atmospheric with a historical collection of more than 15,000 bottles, which is the largest collection of Rothschild wine in the world.

The winter garden is an orangery style event space that can hold up to 130 guests in a ceremony style, or 100 in theatre.Whilst the absolutely incredible and totally unique wedding cake sculpture is a 12 metre tall ceramic sculptural pavilion in the form of a three tiered cake from celebrated Portuguese artist, Joana Vasconcelos – you really won’t have seen anything like this before, and it will make for the most incredible event backdrop.
