It's no secret that Le Cordon Bleu is one of the finest culinary institutions in the world and so, if you're planning an event where you want the food to wow, this world-renowned school's first London restaurant has to be a serious contender.
CORD by Le Cordon Bleu is part restaurant, part Parisian-style cafe and part cookery school, with enough space to host small courses too. Located in a Grade II listed building in The City of London, the space's period details proudly nod to the brand's 125 year history, while modern interiors show that this particular branch is very much rooted in the here and now.
If booking a table at the restaurant for lunch or dinner, you can expect European flavours and a show of elaborate techniques across a multitude of menus including the tasting selection and chef's market favourites. But, if planning a party, whether it be a big birthday or corporate function, there are several private dining options.
The smallest space is the Viceroy which has capacity for groups of up to eight, this room is ideal for an important client meeting or perhaps an intimate dinner with your nearest and dearest. Next up, there's Reuters, another entirely private space with seats for up to 14 people. If you fancy bringing the two spaces together you benefit from enough room for 24 guests, or the opportunity to set up a drinks table or mingling area.
Or, you could treat your guests to 'the ultimate CORD experience' and take over the entire restaurant. In this case, up to 90 guests are invited to indulge in the seasonal menus, or 120 in a cocktail-style reception. Wedding breakfasts have been known to be particularly fabulous in this space, as are awards ceremonies.
For something slightly more relaxed consider the cafe which offers a signature selection of the finest pâtiserries, vienouasier and cakes, for a sweet buffet. Here, 30 guests are welcome to take a seat, or 50 if standing.
