Londoners have no doubt walked past the front of Sucre - chef Fernando Trocca’s glamorous, chandelier-laden Argentinian restaurant - but you may not have realised there’s a seductive bar tucked away underneath. Alma is a cocktail bar run by former Nightjar manager and founder Tony Pescatori, serving innovative house mixes and sharing dishes.
Alma is just as aesthetically-pleasing as the restaurant above, but the form is very different; exposed brick, concrete, wood and slick wall tiling speak to a more industrial-chic style, albeit with a splash of 1970s flair. Perfect for celebratory lunches, evening drinks or late-night parties, Alma is available for private hire, with space for up to 60 seated guests, or 120 standing. Plus, the bar’s handy spot close to Oxford Circus station makes it easy to get to for all of your guests.
Hosting your event at Alma means unfettered access to the bar’s expert mixology team, who will work with you to customise special food and drink menus. The full drinks menu features cocktails, of course, but also beer, wine, spirits and more. Alma’s mixologists can whip up almost any classic cocktail you desire, but there are also lots of unique mixes to get stuck into, like The Himalaya (Hapusa Himalayan Dry Gin, toasted basmati rice, Osmanthus tea, jackfruit & tamarind coulis and London Essence white peach & jasmine) and Mama Quilla (Montelobos Mezcal, ancho verde chilli, Nixta corn liqueur, Singani 63, cassava and mango Cauim Wine and fresh lime juice).
Alma also serves a selection of sharing dishes from Sucre upstairs with examples including cheese and onion empanadas, mini stone bass tostadas and pork belly and spiced pineapple sandwiches.
The venue also offers a DJ point and full AV capabilities upon request, should you wish to hire a live DJ for your event.
